“I am honored that they have recognized my own commitment to help people in need. I am grateful to God for my good fortune and I am inspired to share my successes with those in need.”
Kayrouz was accompanied by one of her two daughters, Stephanie Shamma, who helps direct the Foundation.
“What we see in Syria is a real tragedy. I’m not speaking about the politics but about the suffering we are seeing across the entire country. Families, women, children everyone, regardless of race or religion who need help,” Kayrouz said.
“I believe Life for Relief is sometimes the only resource that may be available to those who are suffering. We pray for the people of Syria and throughout the world who experience similar suffering.”

Stephanie Shamma presented a donation of $10,000 to Life for Relief during the dinner to express support for their charitable efforts.
